My goal as a child and family photographer is to capture your children’s expressions of genuine joy, curiosity and imagination through creative photographs.
I specialize in natural-light, fine-art photography either in the studio or on location on the South Shore of Massachusetts. I grew up on Cape Cod and still love to use the ocean as a backdrop for many of my family sessions.
I have a B.A. in Fine Arts from Bridgewater State University, a teaching degree in grades Pre-K to 3 and a Masters degree in Special Education. I taught both preschool and special education classes for over 15 years before starting Amanda Rebelo Photography in 2012. This unique background in fine art and child development helps me connect with your children on a personal level, allow the moments to unfold and capture your children’s true essence with an artist’s eye.
I am a member of both the National Association of Professional Child Photographers and Professional Photographer's Association. As PPA says,
"The most important thing in your life is your family. If you have a baby, your heart aches when your little bundle of joy’s not with you. Your kids grow up fast and before you know it they leave for college. Memories fade. So, why trust your memories to anyone other than a pro?
Professional photographers know how to capture your family’s unique personality and create artistic portraits that will be cherished forever."
When you book a photo session, I understand that you are not simply looking for “pictures,” but rather are making an investment in heirloom-quality images. You want to harness these precious memories to cherish for years to come: How small she was as a newborn … how she didn’t know what to do with that birthday cake … how he looked when his new teeth came in
Your final photographs are the result of my caring about those moments so much that I take extra time ensuring that the artwork you receive is something of quality, something that I stand by with my name on it.
I will work with you to design a photo session that is custom to you and your family to ensure you have a positive experience and have beautiful pictures that capture your family’s true personality.
During my shoots, I let the children lead the session, capturing their natural interests, curiosity, humor, and, yes, even their frustrations. I have found that this allows the poses to be more natural and the resulting images much more relaxed.
I invite you to visit the gallery to see examples of newborn, children, families and our popular special event photography sessions—holidays, birthdays and the “Cake Smash”—and to get inspiration for your shoot.
